AMS is a great city lots of culture. We particularly enjoyed the cruise through the canals which was a personal tour guided by an old school friend of my wife who lives in the city. Notable attractions were the Van Gogh museum, the Rijksmuseum (breathtaking), and the food (highly recommend Broodje Bert for sandwiches, Die Waterkant for happy hour drinks and snacks) and most places around the “9 Straats”, a collection of 9 streets full of great little stores and eating places.
